First Tracks

Four days beneath Mont Blanc, front-loaded with skiing and back-loaded with recovery.

Day 1

Land and settle

Private transfer from Geneva or Turin. Boots fitted and skis delivered to the chalet. Dinner close to where you are staying, chosen around the property and your arrival time.

Day 2

Courmayeur, guided

A full day with an instructor learning the mountain properly — the Val Vény side in the morning, lunch on a terrace, the trees in the afternoon light.

Day 3

Off-piste

Out with an IFMGA mountain guide. Terrain chosen on the morning avalanche bulletin, and whether it is powder or wind-affected is decided by the snowpack. Transceiver drill before the first lift.

Day 4

Skyway and thermal

Rotating cabins to 3,466 m, lunch on the terrace, then the outdoor thermal pools at Pré-Saint-Didier as the light goes.

Built around the children first, with the adults quietly given a day of their own.

Day 1

Arrival

Transfer with correct child seats. Cots, high chairs and provisioning organised before arrival where the property allows.

Days 2–4

Ski school and snow garden

The children go to ski school in the morning while the adults are out with an instructor. Childcare can take over afterwards if you want it.

Day 5

Snow off the piste

Dog teams, the toboggan run or a day of snow play, chosen by age, weather and energy — with the thermal baths for the adults if the childcare works out. Hot chocolate at the bottom either way.

Day 6

The parents' day

Nanny for the full day. A guided off-piste morning, a long lunch, and the thermal baths with nobody asking for anything.

Day 7

Slow morning, departure

Late checkout, equipment collected from the door, transfer timed to the flight.

Day 1

Mont Blanc

Val Vény and the Miage moraine, with the Brenva face above you all day.

Day 2

Glacier day

Skyway to Punta Helbronner and a roped introduction to glacier travel on the Géant glacier, over the French frontier.

Day 3

Transfer to Cogne

Sarre, Saint-Pierre and Aymavilles en route — the castles that actually sit on the road to Cogne — then the Valnontey in the evening light.

Day 4

Gran Paradiso

A morning with a park guide in areas where ibex and chamois are often seen on the high pastures — then Lillaz waterfalls.

Day 5

Rock

A day climbing on gneiss with an IFMGA guide, at whatever grade suits you.

Day 6

Matterhorn

To Valtournenche. The Cervino from Breuil and, where weather, operator and availability allow, a helicopter circuit of all four summits with a landing at altitude where it is permitted.

Day 7

Monte Rosa and out

The Ayas side, a refuge lunch, and a transfer to Turin or Milan.

Arrive, fit, brief

Transfer, kit fitting, and an evening briefing with your guide on conditions for the days ahead.

First ice

Short, well-protected flows near Lillaz. Tool placement, footwork, and how not to over-grip.

Days 3–4

The classics

Multi-pitch routes chosen on the day for the state of the ice, the temperature and the group — conditions decide, not the brochure.

Day 5

Recovery

Nordic skiing on the valley floor in the morning, physiotherapy and the thermal baths in the afternoon. Three guided ice days are planned; this one is deliberately left loose for weather or recovery, and moves with how the days actually run.

The castle road

Fénis and Issogne in the morning, Forte di Bard and the Museum of the Alps after lunch.

Day 3

Vines

Blanc de Morgex on ungrafted vines beneath Mont Blanc, then Torrette and Fumin with the growers — subject to their availability.

Day 4

Fontina and farewell

A dairy at first milking and an ageing cellar, subject to availability, then a long lunch before the transfer.

Arrive and assess

Transfer, kit check, and an honest conversation with your guide about your fitness.

Day 2

Acclimatisation

A high walk to around 3,000 m. Nobody skips this. It is the main reason people fail.

Day 3

Skills

Crampons, ice axe, roped movement and crevasse awareness on the glacier.

Day 4

Hut

Walk in to the Vittorio Emanuele II or Chabod refuge. Eat early, sleep early.

Day 5

Summit

Alpine start, glacier crossing as a rope team, a short exposed scramble to the Madonna — a summit attempt in the best available window, and the day can move to find it — then down. Thermal baths that evening.

Skyway and a table

Rotating cabins to 3,466 m and, if visibility and operations allow, lunch high above the valley, then down to Aosta for dinner at a starred kitchen.

Day 2

Balloon at first light

A dawn launch over the valley floor as the four giants turn pink — the flight stays entirely dependent on the weather window. Afternoon at the thermal baths.

Day 3

Four summits

A helicopter circuit of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso where weather and operations allow, with a landing at altitude where it is permitted and a toast on the snow.
